CAEL Testing and CAEL Preparation Course
A key component of the TLC system is the assessment of learners into appropriate language learning categories. In order to properly assess all incoming learners for their optimal language competency level, TLC offers the CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) Assessment at multiple times throughout the year.
Learners are encouraged to attend the CAEL preparation course for 20 hours. The CAEL Preparation Courses will be offered three times a year prior to the regular start of each semester. Following the CAEL preparation course, a CAEL assessment will be administered. Students who write the CAEL examination will be placed to corresponding levels according to the assessment result.
Valid IELTS and TOEFL test scores are also accepted for the TLC application. Please refer to the following table for detailed conversion, corresponding levels, course content and tuition fees.
